Aylesbury Grammar School 11 Plus Exam- About the test
The 11 plus exam for Aylesbury is the Bucks exam which uses GL to set the tests. Children will be tested in four subjects:
- English
- Verbal Reasoning
- Non-Verbal Reasoning
- Maths
The Bucks 11 Plus uses two papers , one paper focusses on literacy and contains English and verbal reasoning questions. The second paper includes maths and non-verbal reasoning. Each paper includes 45 minutes of questions with timed sample practice sessions taking a further 15 minutes.
Our Complete 11 Plus Programme fully prepares children for all of these subjects. The course is fully structured so that we build up core skills and introduce children to the new skills they will need for the exam. The course includes about 2000 pages, 30,000 questions and roughly 60 timed tests.
Not only is the course effective but it really helps parents by taking away the need to research which books to buy and then decide which ones to do when and how much of each subject to do. Our courses are not only available to parents as private tutors also use them to support the children in their care.
If parents have less time to prepare then we have two shorter preparation courses available- scroll down for more details.

Aylesbury Grammar School Home Study Courses and Mock Exams
With high entry standards to Aylesbury Grammar School, your child will need plenty of preparation in order to get in. Parents can choose to use tutors/tuition centres or books/structured courses. The benefits of a structured course are that it is tailored to the area you are applying for and parents can focus on helping their child rather than worrying about which books to buy when and what order to do the work in.
Our courses are used by parents and by private tutors who choose to use them instead of books to help their children.
We also supply a series of mock exams to complete at home. These are invaluable either instead of expensive hall based mocks or done before a hall based mock to ensure you get best value from it.

Please do not do this course if you have done any of the courses above as there is some crossover of material.
Preparation for Independent School 11 Plus Exams
Often we will find parents are asking their children to sit an 11 Plus exam for a grammar school in Sept and then are going on to sit an Independent School 11 Plus exam the following January.
Where this is case we have prepared two courses to help with the additional preparation that will be required:
