About Dover Grammar School for Boys
Dover Grammar School for Boys is a learning community with a vision and ethos that has been developed and committed to by all its members – students, staff, parents and governors. The common thread running through all that they do and aspire to is their DGSB DNA. Their DNA consists of two strands, their intellectual characteristics and their values. They look to stimulate and challenge the minds of students through both their academic studies and the wealth of enriching extra-curricular experiences that they participate in. They are developing a technology-rich learning environment that ensures students gain the skills to cope with the ever-changing needs of employers as well as learning to interact safely and responsibly with the online community. They ensure that their curriculum is constantly evolving to reflect the society that we live in and to provide students with the opportunity to engage with the wider local community through work placements, volunteering and collaborative projects. It is their aim for every member of the DGSB community to be proud of their school and the part they each play in adding to its long and impressive history.

Dover Grammar School for Boys Courses and Mock Exams
With high entry standards to Dover Grammar School for Boys, your child will need plenty of preparation in order to get in. Parents can choose to use tutors/tuition centres or books/structured courses. The benefits of a structured course are that it is tailored to the area you are applying for and parents can focus on helping their child rather than worrying about which books to buy when and what order to do the work in.
Our courses are used by parents and by private tutors who choose to use them instead of books to help their children.
Please note that for schools in Dover pupils can sit either the Kent Test or the Dover Test (which covers just verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning).
We also supply a series of mock exams to complete at home. These are invaluable either instead of expensive hall based mocks or done before a hall based mock to ensure you get best value from it.

Preparation for Independent School 11 Plus Exams
Often we will find parents are asking their children to sit an 11 Plus exam for a grammar school in September and then are going on to sit an Independent School 11 Plus exam the following January.
Where this is case we have prepared our 11 Plus Maths Stretch and Revision Course to help with the additional preparation required:
